Generic name – Fexofenadine
Pharmacological Effects:
Allegra (fexofenadine) is an antiallergic drug. It is an antihistamine that eliminates the symptoms of seasonal allergies. Symptoms may include runny or itchy nose, sneezing, itchy and watery throat, itchy or red eyes. In the therapy is also used to treat skin rashes. Do not use this medicine for children younger than 2 years, or only under the guidance of a physician.
Allegra tablets and capsules may be used to treat seasonal allergy symptoms in children who are at least 6 years old.
How to use Allegra:
Take the drug orally twice a day. It can be taken with or without food, depending on your prescription. Bottle should thoroughly shaken. Try not to use Allegra with fruits like orange, apple, grapefruit, as this may lead to an increase in its influence. It is better to take the medication with water.
Do not forget that your dosage will depend on your medical condition and on your response to treatment.
With regard to children, the dosage depends on their age. They need to pass an allergic test before taking the medicine.
Allegra Side effects:
Upset stomach, backache, menstrual cramps, coughing, stuffy nose, fever, dizziness, earache- these are the main side effects of Allegra. This medicine usually does not cause drowsiness when used at recommended doses and under normal circumstances. Almost everybody who use this medication do not suffer from serious side effects associated with Allegra.
Allegra precautions:
Tell your doctor if you have an allergic reaction. Your doctor or pharmacist should be aware of all your problems in order to provide sufficient help in your unique cause, especially if you have problems such as kidney disease. Older people may be more sensitive to this drug, especially if they have renal problems. Allegra is not recommended during pregnancy, and may be taken only in extreme necessity.
