Generic name – Desloratadine

Drug description:
The preparation comes in light blue, round, film coated tablets containing 5 mg desloratadine, an antihistamine, which are intended fort oral administration.
Clarinex comes usually in tablets, pills and syrop.

Pharmacological Effects:
Clarinex is approved to treat the ongoing itching and rash due to hives from unknown causes.
Clarinex generic can be safely used to treat seasonal allergies in adults who at the same time suffer from mild-to-moderate asthma.

How to use Clarinex:
Clarinex is usually taken once a day.
Do not crush, chew, or break the regular Clarinex tablet. Swallow the pill whole.
Measure the liquid form of Clarinex with a special dose-measuring spoon or cup, not a regular table spoon. If you do not have a dose-measuring device, ask your pharmacist for one.

Clarinex Side effects:
Clarinex can induce such side effects as dizziness, muscle pain, nausea, sore throat, tiredness, dyspepsia.

Clarinex precautions:
Patients should be instructed to use Clarinex Tablets as directed. As there are no food effects on bioavailability, they can be instructed that Clarinex tablets may be taken without regard to meals. Patients should be advised not to increase the dose or dosing frequency as the benefits of such actions have not been proved. On the other hand higher dosages of the drug have been shown to cause somnolence in an increasing number of patients.
