Flonase for allergic rhinitis
Topical glucocorticosteroid medications (corticosteroids) has long been used in clinical practice for the treatment of ENT diseases, in particular allergic rhinitis.
Fluticasone propionate (Flixonase) in the form for intranasal use is fully consistent with the properties of an optimal drug for the treatment of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis. Flixonase affects the early and delayed phase of allergic response: inhibits the release of neurotransmitters, reduces the number of inflammatory cells. Due to its local action on the mucous membrane, fluticasone propionate relieves the symptoms of rhinitis, improves the quality of life and limits the development of the associated diseases. The effect of Flonase onsets within 12 hours, it is very easy to use (once per day intranasally), and it is possible to use it long-term. In long-term use of fluticasone propionate increases its therapeutic efficacy, which was confirmed by histological examination of the nasal mucosa.
Prescription of Flonase is indicated to patients, including children from 4 years of age, with the newly onset allergic rhinitis as well as those with the lasting disease.
